The perfect body lotion: how to choose it and how to use it!

Hi beautiful,

The moisturizing process is probably the most important part of your skin care routine. If you miss this step, you’ll experience the domino effect on your skin.

The lack of hydration will ruin the protective barrier of the skin and will make it dry, starting to exfoliate and look dull, the wrinkle will start to show up and so on… So, don’t let your skin feel thirsty! Choose the right body lotion for your skin type and use it as much as you can.

Urea repairing body lotion for dry skin

If your skin has a very dry texture, then it needs extra care. Usually, the skin on the arms and legs is the part that turns dry, feeling rough and sometimes even exfoliating, becoming irritated and giving you that itchy sensation. For this type of skin problems use dermato-cosmetic beauty products like body lotions containing urea, a very hydrating substance that will help your skin regain its soft touch. You can find this type of lotion in any pharmacy or you can ask a dermatologist to guide you.

Ultra-rich body lotion for dehydrated skin

If your skin is thirsty, treat it with an ultra rich cream. Usually, the dehydration is more obvious only in some certain parts of your body, where the skin is more exposed to aggressive factors and easier to damage: the backhand, the elbow area, the knees and the skin on the heels. But if you’ll apply this greasy body lotion on these areas, after the shower, when the skin is softer and easier to be penetrated by the active ingredients, in time, it will get back to a soft look.

Light body lotion for normal skin

You are lucky because this type of skin doesn’t require a special treat. It will be happy with a regular light body lotion or even body milk. Actually, for a minimum effort, you can use a 2 in 1 body lotion and apply it while you shower. This way, you’ll get a moderate hydration, just perfect for your skin type.

If you’re home-made products addicted, you can even create your own very hydrating body lotion, mixing coconut oil, coconut butter, olive oil and natural essential oils and apply it on your wet skin, immediately after the shower, for a better absorption.

And as a final advice: avoid silicon body lotion! This ingredient will only cover your skin with a soft thin layer which will make it look extremely smooth. And that’s all! It doesn’t help your skin on the inside, but also have negative effects on the outside, getting your pores clogged and creating the perfect area for the acne and the dark spots to show up on.

With love,

Adele
