4 Watermelon face masks you didn't know about
I know that summer is almost gone, but since it has been throwing its arrows among our lives, we have been waiting with a lot of enthusiasm the appearance of a new refreshing fruit in order to include it in our beauty skin care routine.
We all know how exquisite is watermelon. We all love to eat it. Most of us are associating summer with fresh fruits, with energy, with sand and shells, ocean and summer breeze.
But, do you know that apart from being incredibly refresh, juicy and tasty, it turns out that watermelon is associated with a substantial list of health benefits? We also dive into these, and link them to how eating watermelon might nourish your skin!
Since I was a child, I have been loving the watermelon and its taste. I remember that it was not missing from our tables during the summer. I keep in mind my mother’s voice:
“Take a slice of watermelon and make a facial massage.” After the face was dry, I was rinsing it with cold water and my skin was so smooth. Except for this soothing effect, the watermelon has a lot of beneficial properties for the skin due to its nutrients: Antioxidants, Lycopene, Vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin B.
Shortly, look how watermelon helps us having a shining and glowing skin: it contains 90% water, meaning that it is an endless moisturizing source. Also, it stimulates the collagen production and offers firmness to the skin. The acids blended in the watermelon have exfoliating properties. It also has a diuretic effect and cleans the body of toxins, leaving your skin bright.
You can use watermelon in combination with other ingredients in order to prepare some miraculous masks that will help you to treat some different skin issues you might have.
Here are my 4 different masks recommendations based on this amazing watermelon main ingredient:
1. WATERMELON AND HONEY FOR DRY SKIN. Mix one tablespoon of watermelon juice with a spoon of honey and apply the subnet mask on your face. Let it act 20 minutes and then rinse it with lukewarm water. In this case, honey will act as a natural agent of humidity and it will help the watermelon to hydrate in depth the dermis.
2. WATERMELON AND MINT FOR INCREASED PORES. You need one cup of chopped watermelon and some leaves of mint. Mix together the ingredients until you will obtain a homogeneous mixture. Freeze the composition that you got in a special ice freezer container. After the mixture is completely frozen softly massage your face with one ice cube. This will have a refreshing cold effect on your skin and then your pores will significantly decrease.
3. WATERMELON AND AVOCADOS FOR FINE WRINKLES. Combine a tablespoon of watermelon juice with 1 tablespoon of minced avocado. Apply the subnet mask and let it on your skin about 20 minutes. Then rinse with warm water. Vitamin C consistency acts as an antioxidant and protects your skin against free radicals, gives firmness and revitalizes your skin.
4. WATER AND YOGURT FOR A FLAT SKIN. Mix a cup of minced watermelon with a spoon of yogurt. Apply the subnet mask on your face and after 10 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water. The Lycopene and vitamin A will help your skin to look shining.
